We have installed a new grill with an LP to natural gas conversion kit. There is a very slow, miniscule leak?

at the fitting under an open deck, detectable only by the soap test. The fitting was sealed with pipe dope as instructed. Is there a tape or epoxy we can use to wrap this ftting or must we start all over? Say it isn't so.......
